They had a lot at Dexter Cemetery but no stone found for either.

place of death information as Miner/Sikeston (Scott/New Madrid Co), possibly
because Duane would have filed the death claim?

CARL WILLIAMS, b. July 22, 1929, ,Ripley, MO; d. May 05, 1933, ,Ripley, MO.
Notes for LOWELL CARL WILLIAMS:
Carl was born a couple years before me (Wayne) and although I have
distinct memories of Paul (closer to my own age) which were, if tombstone dates
were copied accurately, prior to Carl's death, I don't personally remember Carl. I understand that he and/or Paul had breathing problem s and
literally choked to death enroute to the hospital.

iii. PAUL
WILLIAMS, b. February 28, 1932, ,Ripley, MO; d. October 28, 1934, ,Ripley, MO.
Notes for PAUL WILLIAMS: Among my
earliest memories are the first time Aunt Nila brought Paul to visit.
He would have been just a few months old and I couldn't have been more
than a year old. They put us down
on a quilt on the floor and I tried to talk with him.
Aunt Nila said "He can't talk now but he will later".
Another equally clear memory was a couple years later when we went to
Aunt Nila's and I couldn't understand why everybody was crying. Nila dried her tears and led me in to see Paul on a bed where
he was "sleeping". Paul
died just a few days before my 3rd birthday and when I asked when he would wake
up so we could play they went on to explain that he had "gone to see
Jesus". I went outside and
watched with wide-eyed fascination as the men (I recall Uncle Lowell and Grandpa
but don't remember who else; Dad hadn't gone out to help them yet) were
constructing a tiny wooden coffin. My questions must have been disturbing or
else I was getting in the way for Grandpa or one of the uncles soon shooed me
away.

HAROLD DWIGHT8 WILLIAMS
(NILA7 ADAMS, JOHN THOMAS6, JESSE THOMAS5,

HENRY1) was born 1933 in ,Ripley Co, MO.
He married NAOMI NORMAN. October 24,
1952 in ,Stoddard, MO, daughter of JAMES NORMAN.
Notes for HAROLD DWIGHT WILLIAMS:
I've forgotten some of the dates/names for Dwight & Duane's families but
Dwight would have been born during the early 1930s (1932 or 33?).
He became a very successful construction superintendent at an early age.
They were in East Lansing, MI during the1960s, in Indianapolis, IN
ca.1973 (when his son David (A17) was selected by CC as a "future community
leader". They later moved to
NC.

REX DUANE8 WILLIAMS
(NILA7 ADAMS, JOHN THOMAS6, JESSE THOMAS5,
BRIANT (BRYAN)4, HENRY3, JESSE2,
HENRY1) was born September 11, 1936 in ,MO, and died
August 09, 1985 in ,MO. He married
LINDA [NEE ?] WILLIAMS May 29, 1959 in ,MO.
Notes for REX DUANE WILLIAMS: We
had moved away from Doniphan and the first time I saw Duane he was perhaps 3
years old . I recall that when we
arrived he had a tricycle turned over and was spinning one of the rear wheels.
After playing a while with my brother and Dwight I went over and said
"hi" to him and was startled when he began crying and ran to Aunt
Nila. A few years later they
visited us in St. Louis, and we all later teased Duane a lot about that visit.
He didn't want to eat what the rest of us were having for breakfast and
he kept saying "I want some strawberry so die".
The more Nila and Mom tried to get him to take some milk and cereal, the
louder he got and his "I WANT SOME STRAWBERRY SODIE NOW, I DO!"
finally got results but he never lived it down.
As a young child he was as introverted as Dwight was extroverted.
However, as he grew the whine was replaced by a very personable and
thoughtful guy -- playing in the band, a good tight end on the high school
football team, the lead singer on a gospel quartet broadcasting weekly over KSIM
during his high school years. During
childhood he lost the vision in one eye from an accident, yet was able to
register 20/20 to get into the Navy by memorizing the chart -- "I thought
they had me when they said to read it backwards".
Later he became a "disk jockey" for KSIM and his pleasant voice
was well known throughout the boot heel area.
H e married a lovely young lady and they were happily raising their
family when tragedy struck in the form of leukemia.
Duane died at much too young an age and was loved and deeply missed by
all who knew him.
