Generation No. 1

(1) HENRY ADAMS was born before 1736, and died in Virginia or North Carolina.
Notes for HENRY ADAMS: From Nugent's Cavaliers & Pioneers (VA Patent Bk. #2) Henry Adams purchased 150 acres on the South side of Nottaway River and South side of the Three Creeks, March 24, 1725. This seems to fit with information on Bryan b. 1756 at Three Creeks and also with the Henry naming tradition. Pension files didn't show the parent names but this HENRY ADAMS almost certainly was either the father or grandfather. From a 1775 map, Three Creeks flowed into the Nottaway River near Southampton / Brunswick County line, which fits with Patsy Adams GenForum posting on "Adams Grove" she located between Emporia, Drewryville & Courtland, VA. Other GenForum postings describe a Henry Adams (1705-1770) and Eliz whose son JOHN was born 1725 in Southampton / Isle of Wight and son Henry Jr. born 1745 (Henry Jr. died <10/23/1780 in Brunswick Co. will page 184-186). Tippy Satterfield has Henry's parents as Thomas (1667-1722) and Elizabeth Adams who owned land in Prince George County, VA. and wrote a will 7/26/1722. Tippy's line via Zadock s/o Henry Jr. They went from VA to KY, GA, NC, and Arkansas. Pending examination of a will or additional information, I'm assuming Henry Sr. was the father of the North Carolina Bryan and Jesse as well as Southampton County, VA. descendants on GenForum. We need to firm this up.
Children of HENRY ADAMS are:
i. JESSE ADAMS, b. 1753, Bute Co. NC; d. 1835 Humphries Co., TN.
ii. BRYANT ADAMS, b. 1756, Three Creeks, VA., d. 1839, Johnston Co., NC.
