Lewisa �Denise� Hurtt-Thomas
Ms. Hurtt-Thomas was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Where she received her formal education in Business Administration and Fashion Design. Her early interest was focused both on fashion design and modeling where she was highlighted as a successful model for over ten years.

Denise is a long time member of ABWA (American Business women�s Association) her chapter Golden Royalties Chapter, Kansas City, Mo. consist of women of various professions. Denise is called upon to speak at monthly meetings to render words of encouragement, spirituality, and motivation and for self-empowerment and increased personal and professional performance to members and guest. She also writes a monthly article published in ABWA monthly bulletin for her chapter and has received raving reviews.

Denise is a former student of �Writers workshops Inc.� Dallas Texas, a local group of writers and authors that provide workshops for aspiring talented speakers and writers, she
is a proud member of ASJA-American Society of Journalist and Authors. Denise is an outstanding columnist, she writes for a family magazine based out of Danville, CA and writes for a variety of web sites.

She comes from a family line of entrepreneurs, which prompted her motivation to pursue her goals of owning her own businesses, i.e. retail clothing, modeling and writing.
Ms. Hurtt-Thomas is the proud Mother of two lovely children (T.H.III and Monica Michelle). She and her family traveled the world and resided in the state of Texas. She now has three grand children (Emahni, Alisa and Jaylen).
Denise currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri where she is happily married to her soul mate, Frederick Douglas Thomas a man who inspires her to reach further, showing her that all is possible. They both gained an interest in writing to express some of their formal life experiences on paper.

Denise is a self-proclaimed champion for her ability to invoke enthusiasm and stimulate thought processes connecting individuals with their true essence.

Her favorite being humorous writing. She uses her knowledge in that area to inspire appreciation. Denise spends her days writing, plotting her next grand adventure. She is well versed in the art of tapping the funny bone of her readers. She delights in offering her expertise in this area, helping others is a true measure of her worth. Holding strong to this, Denise believes "you don�t write because you want to say something; you write because you�ve got something to say.�

Denise�s interest covers a vast area...Writing, traveling and poetry.

Denise's works or scheduled for publication fall of 2002, The International Library of Poetry "Letters from the Soul" will be a classic, coffee-table quality hardbound volume. Library of Congress ISBN-0-7951-5160-8 the Poetry Anthology will showcase today's talented poets and songwriters. Howard Ely, Managing Editor.

Denise's poetry is acknowledged on the basis of my unique talent and artistic vision. As a poet chosen for publication she eligible to attend The International Society of Poet's Convention and Symposium held each year in Washington, DC. My work is feature in Circle of Faith Magazine, Wellspring: A Journal of Christian Poetry.
