Nezuji's Stuff

JavaScript Tools

Introduction

Whenever I need some sort of tool to do a simple computational task, I seem to run into a brick wall. If I can find a tool for free, it's only available for download as an EXE file, which is blocked by my work proxy. If it's downloadable as a ZIP, it tries to alter the registry, for which I don't have access. Or if I find a web-based tool, it's either Java-based (never works on these computers), does weird things with ports (blocked by the proxy again), or takes forever to come back with a result.

More often than not, I end up hacking together a bit of JavaScript to get the job done. It's not always pretty, and it's very rarely the best development platform for the task at hand. But it works, and I can rely on it working pretty much anywhere I go. I'm finally attempting to consolidate everything into one place, ie. this site. Maybe you can get some use from them too.
