Michael Schumacher won the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim. Teammate Massa finished in second place. The third place went to Raikkonen. Button was fourth, Alonso fifth, Fiscichella sixth, Trulli seventh and Cristian Klien finished in eight place. The next race is the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaoring on 30th July.

New Rules for 2006

1. Qualifying - Knock Out. In the first 15 minutes the last six cars will start from 17 -22 and the result of the other cars are cancelled. In the next 15 minutes, the slowest cars will start from 11-16 place. In the last 20 minutes, top 10 cars will run as many laps as they want for the remaining 10 places.

2. Tyre changes are allowed - 7 sets of dry weather, 4 sets of wet weather, 3 sets of extreme weather tyres per race.

3. Engine - has to last for 2 races else the car is penalised 10 places on the start grid.

4. Fuel - Cars in the final 20 minute qualifying session must enter the track only with the fuel load they plan to use on race day.
