Heidi Elva
Heidi Elva at the Hoey, as support in a curious line up that, to say the least, wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Heidi herself was wonderful, dreamy, on the harp and loop pedals, plus friends on bass and trumpet. The audience was small but appreciative, as Heidi toyed with looping clicks, mobile phone noises and handclaps to build up her songs, like a more experimental and ambient version of pop soloist Pikelet. I left feeling just as impressed as the first time I saw her last year.
