Hey! Free gig? I'm down! Web portal Faster Louder and some alcohol brand get together to bring us free entertainment.
First band I caught, the Pink Fits, play fairly straight up pop punk rock in matching cream jacket uniform. Nice of them to throw in a harmonica for a tune or two; otherwise unremarkable.
The band that got me out of the house was Brissy three piece I Heart Hiroshima. Debut album out tomorrow! Exciting times for this band, so I came out to check them out again. Susie still the star, hitting those skins and pulling those faces. Fantastic, propulsive pop rock, with curiously sweet vocals from Susie. Ace. Looking forward to getting my hands on the lp.
I never cared for the Mint Chicks, and tonight is no exception. Some kinda screamo bollocks. Totally didn't feel for it. A large part of my disgust stems from the kids around me visibly having an enjoyable time. How dare these punks get into music I'm not getting into! Bollocks this, I walk out now.
