Surprisingly early kick off to proceedings, Soft Tigers again an instrument-sharing, fun loving mess. Not so messy this time, still more than enough charm. You'll always win me over with those electro-tech freakouts you end the show with. One to watch out for.
I guess I was expecting something a touch more experimental, so Muscles disappointed with one man behind barely-touched keys shouting to a backing tape. I got nothing against the method and the presentation, but the actual product didn't exactly blow my mind. It all sounded a touch too cheesy, commercial euro-techno to me, a-la Scooter. That's bad as in bad.
Architecture In Helsinki has been stuck in some kind of metal blind spot of mine. I love some of the things they've been doing. But they've also grated with their ruthless eclecticism. It'd be too harsh to call it gimmicky, it's just a bit too skitzo for boring old me. But live, they were fantastic. Never a dull moment, especially for someone unfamiliar with their back catalogue. In the flesh, the sheer randomness of proceedings keeps the punters on their toes. I had no idea what they were gonna do next and I loved it. Could have done without the messy stage invasion though.
