Shapeshifter
Rastarookie

It's another one of those nights, where minutes and hours just disappear. I remember turning up early, seeing Rastawookie come on with drummer, guitarists, people on technologies and a girl on mic up front. Starting with reggae, it didn't catch my interests till towards the end when they shifted up a gear and explored some drum'n bass riddims that got the whole place bouncing.

Shapeshifter came on, the makeshift venue was packed tight, energy levels were high for such a trendy crowd, for a Thursday. And for a drum'n bass gig. Shapeshifter has been doing a top level job bridging the gap and have real crossover potential, with the latest album satisfying the headphones as well as the dancefloors. Charismatic P-Digss up front delivered fantastic vocals, joined at one point by Kye from Budspells as the band explored some hip hop vibes. Rich, smooth, exciting, still pushing boundaries from jazzy melodic to rough tech step. Brilliant.
