Darren Hanlon
Laura Imbruglia

Laura Imbruglia, I never really cared much for the few songs of hers I've heard on the radio. But hearing them performed live, something extra, something special was felt. Maybe because live, I'm actually paying attention to her as she plays, whereas on the radio, another girl with a guitar doesn't exactly grab one's attention. But tonight, she definitely won me over. Songs that I never cared much for before felt more real and passionate, even if it were just songs about a jukebox washing machine. Definitely will be paying more attention to her in future.

Darren Hanlon, Christmas special. Arrived on stage alone with his guitar. Every time he plays, it's a joy to watch. And this time it's no different. But then, it is. For after a few tunes alone, he invites up some friends to play on the harp, the double bass and the harmonium. I really didn't care much for the harmonium. There were Christmas songs. Or songs of murder and carnage that happened to happen on a Christmas day. Holly Throsby, Bree the drummer and Laura Imbruglia were all at some stage pulled out from the crowd to sing a song with Darren. There were the usual playful heckles, the silly stories, the well crafted songs, all the ingrediants for another fantastic show.
