we missed most of this support act because mark the kiwi couldn't manage to turn up at the station on time. because mark sucks and he drives a crap Paseo. and he thinks his Paseo kicks. shitty stretched and overpriced Starlet. i think to try to make me feel like i didn't miss much, he kept dissing them as shit rock. it was pretty shitty, but.

Front End Loader.
we were both like, yeah, we know this band. but we just don't know what songs they played. (well, of course i knew they had that song "at the end; of the line; who gets to decide; when its over..." and their new album's "how can we fail when we're so sincere" and their new single was.... the point is, i AM all knowing. don't doubt me with music, it's my life.)
a surprisingly good set. we didn't head out front because this was the second show and apparently there was also some football match on and there was not a big happening crowd tonight to join in to for us. but still, a set so good it made mark ask what their album was. (and of course i knew straight off the top of my head 'cause i am, all knowing.)

Grinspoon.
phoaw! strewth! sick, mate, fully sick. these geezers were going off. fucking ill shit. hit after hit after hit. didn't even realise i knew so many of their songs (despite the fact that, yes, i know all, and i hear all) i loved the track "bolt cutter" but they were a fucking hit machine. the set was damn fine indeed. the place (the metro) was packed and moving along, during the set the band stopped to hand out free beer to those in the mosh pit. now something i don't get. if you like the band, why throw rubbish at it? i'd seen this with other bands too and i don't get it at all. (despite the fact that i am all knowing and...) anyway, back to my mindless rave. fucking awesome show. kiwi boy agrees.

afterwards, in a freezing cold winter night, McDonalds look pretty decent after all.
