Grounded Bird. 2007.

A touch disappointing, after some early, inspiring live performances. The cute quirkiness in the vocals has been tuned down a bit, the production is somewhat by the numbers. Even some of the lyrical imagery grates. There are some wonderful moments though. Personal favourite "year of drinking" has a good mix of the angelic vocals, subtly dark subject matter on a stripped back, simple pop song. Exactly what I was after, if only there was more like it.
