THE OLYMPIAN GYMNAST RECEIVES THE "Cuauht�moc" 2000 as the best sports figure from Mexicali.

The olympian gymnast, Denisse L�pez Sing, has been awarded again as the Athlete of the Year by the Association of Sports Commentators.
Last night, during the gala event of the sports family at the Casino of Mexicali, Denisse walked away with the "Cuauht�moc" that credits her as the best sports figure in Mexicali in 2000.
To start the year 2000, the "cachanilla" pride was recognized as The Gymnast of the Century in Mexico, an award made by the sports commentators of Mexico City during February.
At the Gymnix International in Montreal, Canada, celebrated in March; she was first on vault, third on floor and sixth in the all-around.
Denisse's successes continued during the same month of March at the Cottbus Grand Prix, as she got gold on vault in Cottbus, Germany.
Between March and April, the Mexicali gymnast won gold again on vault, this time in the Senior Pacific Alliance Championships, contested in Auckland, New Zealand.
Gold on vault, silver in the All-Around and bronce on floor exercise were the triumphs for L�pez Sing at Copa Gimn�stica in Mexico City.
And to close the year 2000, Denisse paralized Mexicali during the Sydney Olympiad, after advancing to the vault final; placing eighth after two unfortunate vaults.
The Mexicali gymnast announced yesterday that from the 28th of March to the 3rd of April she will be competing at the Tournament of Masters to take place in Cottbus, Germany.
Like in 1999, Denisse is the queen of gymnastics, the Athlete of the Year; but at that time she was also nominated as the Sports Figure of the Century by the Association of Sports Commentators, organization directed by Antonio Burgue�o.
Baseball players Luis Armando Cerrillo Maldonado and Jorge Joel "Bimbo" Armenta, who participated at the World Series, were also part of the !!!!!triade? to determine the Athlete of the Year.
Last night we lived another celebration within the sports family, where the winners of the "Cuauht�moc" paraded one by one to receive their awards.
