I decided to change this page. Too happy for my taste,
at the moment.
Let me introduce myself. Because obviously 'Falena' is not my real name.
Though sometimes it seems to fit me more. Anyway...
My real name is Denise Catharina Willemina Offringa.
I was born on 9 November 1978 in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
I have studied a bit of Illustration & Free Arts
at the ArtAcademy in Kampen for 1½ years.
I love to draw, paint, photograph, sing,
dance & write.
And I create websites. All sorts, as long as they have to do with
anything interesting to me.
I also indulge myself into many characters online.
Each of them has their own aspect, their own 'personality' and their own 'thing'.
Falena is the artist, Leiarilla is the pretender and Anna Avon is the writer...
All of them combined, you'll find 'me'... But as I cannot choose between all my interests in real life,
I decided to each give them their own life... online...
My wish is to one day be able to play the piano, which
I find a magical instrument. I am absolutely mesmerized by The Glass
Harmonica 1, 2
(Which is an instrument based on the glasses filled with water, which
you play by touching them with a wet finger), which I hope to learn
to play one day... I also love the guitar, the violin and the harp.
Of course there are many more instruments that I like. But it depends
in what way and how they are played.
I love animals. Dogs, wolves, butterflies... dolphins...
actually all!
Not to be as pessimistic as some, but there is a certain truth in
the saying
that one just finds more response in animals. More response to Love
and to Care.
They are unconditional in that. A thing that humans seem to have lost
or still need to find.
I cherish Friendship and Love. I think they are two
of the most important things in Life. That's why I have always been
looking for the One and Only True Love. And I still am...
I am not sure whether such a thing exists. Foolishly perhaps, I keep
on waiting.
And peeking from the side of my eyes, for something... 'just in case'...
Maybe not in this life-time.
Or maybe in the after-life... Because I have heard they understand
Love so much better there...
I have an incredible passion for food. Some have cursed
me under their breath for being
more enthousiastic about the food in the room than about the people that
were there.
Wake me up with something good to eat in the middle of the night and
I might forgive you
for waking me up. But be sure to have another good reason as well.
Food alone doesn't cut it.
Anyway. I am slightly addicted to Chocolate. I actually get moody
if I don't eat it for a few days.
It's the same with Music. But that works even
faster. One day without and best
keep well away from me, unless you bring me something nice to listen to...
Then I have a 'thing' for anything and everything old-fashioned.
Anything that has the slightest sense of 'having been part of life' somehow for quite a while,
hence possessing a certain kind of 'spirit' or 'essence' which is noticable then.
That's why I like discovering new places & things about cultures too; new spirits, new essences...
Lp's and old books as well... Especially the feel & the old smell... Another one of my 'things'...
Smells... Maybe it's just safest to say I love using all of my senses...
I wanted to make this site because I love all the
forms of Art so much and because I owe so much to them.
I'd be lost without them.
