IMPORTANT PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

I KNOW THIS LETTER IS LENGTHY, BUT PLEASE READ ALL OF IT CAREFULLY BECAUSE IT HAS 
SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

The performance times and locations were left in your folders or cubbies and also emailed.  If you need a reminder, 
you may call me at 817-320-9074 or email denise@abcdance.biz.

You are allowed to invite your family and friends to attend the performance, there will be no cost to them.  
However, because we will be on a tight schedule, please make sure you arrive 20-30 minutes before the performance 
and make sure family and friends arrive on time.  If there is another school performing when you arrive, wait out in 
the foyer or hall until they are done.

The costumes will be left in the classrooms the same day as this letter.  TRY THEM ON IMMEDIATELY.  IF 
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH SIZES I NEED TO KNOW RIGHT AWAY!!  Since the girl’s tutus are one-size-
fits-all, I will keep them and the headpieces with me until the day of the performance.  The headpieces are 
headbands that will be attached with bobby pins and will work with any hairstyle.  The boys will need to arrive in 
their shorts and shirt and the girls will need to arrive in their tights and leotard.  The children will be dancing in their 
bare feet as we do in class.  

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, my goal with class each week is to give the children something to look 
forward to, enjoy, and feel good about.  This is a goal I also have for the performance.  This needs to be a low-
pressure event that they are looking forward to and can have fun with.  Therefore, I would like to explain one of my 
policies.  Undoubtedly, there will be a few students who do not want to perform.  While I will encourage them, I 
WILL NOT put any pressure on them to perform, and ask the parents not to put any pressure on them.  An 
advantage to the way I have the performance put together is that there is plenty of time for them to get comfortable 
and perhaps join in later on.  If a child does not want to perform, I will ask them if they want to sit down with you.  
As they watch, they may decide to join in.  If not, there are several dances plus tumbling they will be sharing with 
you, so there is plenty of time for them to relax and see how much fun the other children are having.  Thank you for 
your cooperation in this matter as well.

Performances are located at Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church located at 715 East Lamar Blvd. Arlington 76011. It 
is just west of the intersection of Lamar Blvd and Collins St (or 157).
