 
Photographers can spend hours waiting for a moment that never comes. I was very fortunate to have had that moment arrive my first night at the pond.
Out of the darkness, I heard a whisper on the wind and looked up in time to see this magnificent creature swooping only inches above the surface of the water. I quickly
aimed my camera and snapped this photo.
My haste and excitement caused the blur, but I feel it adds a rather surreal quality to the image, don't you think?
