The first idea of playing together occurred in 1992, but only in 1998 we decided to take the band seriously. First started rehearsing some covers songs as SAXON, ANGEL WITCH, GASKIN, WHITE SPIRIT, HOLOCAUST, etc. then we began to write songs. The first promo-tape is untitled �We Wear...�, which was recorded in 2000. On September/2001, we recorded a promo-cd, untitled �Too Damn Loud!�. In 2002 we recorded a song to a Tribute CD to MOTORHEAD that never saw the light of day. In April 2003 we were invited to be part of a compilation CD of brazilian unsigned bands that was organized by brazilian Metal Magazine Valhalla. This compilation was released in December 2003 and it is being distributed by Century Media Brazil.
2. It�s easy to hear, that the metal influences in your music come from the bands like Saxon, Savage, Gaskin, Tygers Of Pan Tang, etc. Do you like nwobhm ? ?
Yes, we are total freaks lunatic nwobhm fans! If you listen to our music and this reminds you those great bands seems that we made a great job!
3. What were the reactions of the fans on your promo cd �Too Damn Loud!�?
Very impressive! We tough that there were not many fans of our kind of Metal around. What you see and hear on Metal magazines or Metal radio stations is most Melodic Death Metal, Gothic Metal, New Metal and things like that. So we tough that only a few die hard fans would like to hear that old fashioned traditional Heavy Metal. But our surprise was that there are many fans around, not only in Brazil, but all around the world and some of then are working on magazines, so we also got a lot of good reactions from the mags around the world.
4. On your promo tape �We Wear�� is the cover of the Witchfinder General �Witchfinder General / Free Country�. Also on the �Too Damn Loud!� was the cover of Tygers Of Pan Tang, �Gangland�. Why have you recorded these covers ?
Since the start we always played on our gigs some NWOBHM covers from bands such SAXON, SAMSON, VENOM, WHITE SPIRIT, ANGELWITCH, GIRLSCHOOL, etc. and when we decided to record the first demo we only had two songs written, so we tough it would be good to add a cover song and we just recorded one of the songs we used to play live. The reactions where amazing and we decided to continue recording some covers on our releases. We also decided to record these bands because we think they are great, but the young people that are starting to listen Heavy Metal do not know them. So it is a kind of tribute to these great bands and a chance for the young to know that there are great bands also in the past.
5. Have you listened to the last Tygers Of Pan Tang album, �Noises From The Cathouse�? What do you think about this cd?
Sorry, no. Just a few MP3 samples that were available on the net, and it sounds good to me.
6. Please, tell me a few words about the underground metal scene in Brazil. Which bands play music like the heavy metal?
We are a very big country and you can find a good Metal scene in every state. Yes, there are even Metal bands from Amazonia! We have worldwide known bands like ANGRA, SEPULTURA, KRISIUN that have the support of the big companies and play in big venues. Also we have some bands that have one or two CDs released that play in good conditions when they are open act of foreigner bands and there are tons of underground bands like us, which play in underground venues sell CDR�s, are interviewed by zines, etc. I would like to list some good underground bands that really deserve your time: TIGER CULT, DOMINUS PRAELII, TORTURE SQUAD, WYTCHKRAFT, GAMMOTH, KREMATE, BLASTHRASH, SYMBOLLIC, HELLISH WAR, etc. If you wanna see how an underground gig here is, you can check our web site (www.denimandleather.cjb.net) and see the pictures section.
7. Do you play many concerts in your country?
Not as much as we�d like it, but yes, we play some concerts. There are a lot of venues to play but also there are tons of bands. We played 5 times this year of 2004, that is not a great number but is growing and we intend to increase this number this year. We also had a concert in Asunci�n Paraguay this last year, which was our first concert outside Brazil.
8. Metal fans in Brazil are the really, crazy maniacs! The bands from Europe are very satisfied of the possibility to play the concerts in your country and South America (for example, Iron Maiden � Rock In Rio). Whence is the amazing interest of your countrymans for heavy metal music?
Yes! We are all crazy maniacs! hahaha. It�s great to see the support that we all give to bands like IRON MAIDEN. They need to play in soccer stadiums here, given the large number (around 30000!) of people that want to see these bands. Maybe it�s because of the lack of great concerts like that. Unfortunately Rock In Rio is the only big festival now, and we don�t know when it�s going to be the next one. But besides that there are always some Metal bands playing here, not as much as Europe, but in February we will see ANTHRAX, SODOM and NUCLEAR ASSAULT. Well, I don�t know how are Metal concerts in Poland or any other countries, but here, is not only the concert itself, we like to get earlier to the gig, have a drink, meet friends, it�s almost a party.

10. Do you know some polish bands? KAT, Turbo, TSA?
Unfortunately is very difficult to find polish Metal bands here in Brazil. TURBO is a great band and I like it very much, also VADER is very good and is very well know in the brazilian underground Death Metal scene. BEHEMOTH too and they played here in Brazil last year. And a band called DELIGHT had their album released here in Brazil, but I didn�t have the chance to hear it.
11. In my country, Brazil is associated with Pele, Ronaldo, soccer first of all. You live in Sao Paulo. Do you support FC Sao Paulo? Are you a soccer fan?
Well, in my country Poland is associated to Pope and Lech Walesa. We all in the band are soccer fans, but we do not support S�o Paulo FC. I support Ponte Preta, Marcelo and Gustavo support Palmeiras and Hamilton supports Portuguesa. And as soccer fans we always remember a polish player called Lato, that played the World Cup in 1982� And as beer fans we know that the you from Poland also enjoy very much beer and some of you travel, on weekends, to the Check Republic only to drink beer, because it is very cheap there.
12. Last time, you should record with other 3 brazilian bands a compilation vinyl for the Dark Sun Records. Any news about this �project�?
Yes, it should be out next March, and the label is working to this release be out in Europe too. We hope so! The other 3 bands are KREMATE, STATIK MAJIK and ALCOHOLICOMA.
13. �Too Damn Loud!� was recorded in 2001. What�s your plans on the future? We can expect the new promo cd or the full-length album?
Well, we have no money to record and release a full-length by ourselves, and, until now, no label offered us a deal. We will then record a new promo CD as soon as possible. We have already a couple a song to record and after that we will look for a label to record our first full-length.
