Just a Quickie

For all those that inquired I am doing much better. Terribly sorry about that funk. I’ll try to keep them to a minimum.
Anyway, inbetween stretches of working on the super large knitting project that is still hush-hush, I’ve completed two pairs of socks.
The first pair is the poor Cotton Classic socks that was without a mate for nearly a month because I ran out of yarn for the second sock. It finally has mate and was last seen wrapped in its mates foot, never to be separated again.
The second pair is the Wooly Wonka merino/bamboo/nylon blend. I love these socks! I love the color, I love the way they knitted up, I loved the sheen. I’m in love. The pooling of the colors is a bit unusual here and there but I still love them.
And, and...the bamboo blended with the wool gives me a pair of handknitted socks cool enough that I can wear them during the summer! Hip-hip hooray! I was seriously considering writing Mother Nature a compliant letter about the heat wave in July. All these lovely handknitted socks and I couldn’t wear a single one!
Anyway, upon complete the Wooly Wonka’s, I’m casted on some Schaefer Anne. This is the first time I’ve knitted with Schaefer Anne. I must have 6 different skeins of this yarn in my stash; the unique colorways are my downfall. Somewhere someone told me you have to knit this on pretty fine needles. Is that true? The Schaefer website says US #1’s but that seems pretty big for this fine of yarn. Tell me what you think. Leave a comment on the blog.
In other news:
I actually won a blog contest! I never win anything! The lovely, generous Notscarlett of the blog: Notscarlett: Knitting My Heart Out in the Steamy South, had a blog contest for her 1500th comment! I went over to leave a kind comment just because. I know how great comments are; it lets you know people actually stop by to read your writing and listen. By some kindness of the knitting goddess (I think she feels sorry for the major frogging project), I was the 1500th comment! Go figure.
The grand prize package includes: a set of Zero stitch markers, some fabulous Fearless Fibers sock yarn (SQUUEE!) and a Rocco sock pattern by Anne Hanson of Knit Spot. Thank you NotScarlett for your kindness. You made my day and my week!
So now I’m looking for ideas for blog contests to share the kindness of someone I barely know with others. Any suggests in the comments section would be greatly appreciated!
Damn you, Miss Violet, for starting up the Chore Wars for the L&V message board! I finally broke down and signed up today! I am completely addicted! I am now looking for anyway possibly to get points honestly. You have her to thank for me actually updating the blog since I get 5xp points for posting! This has to be a sign that I am pathetic and have no life!
Thanks for stopping by. I now return you to your regularly scheduled life. I have the huge, taking-over-my-life knitting project to get back to work on.
