13 Days and Counting
I’m twitching so badly from yarn withdrawals I can hardly keep a grip on my can of caffeine of choice: Pepsi. My world has turned into a narrow, dark little place. I don’t dare go out; I’ll find a place selling yarn. I don’t dare go on the internet; I’ll be at an online yarn store as fast as my internet connection can get me there. I don’t dare read; I’ll read a knitting book that features all these fabulous yummy yarns that I will crave and go find some on the internet.
How do people go 6, 9, months or even a year without buying yarn? What can I do to not think about needing more yarn 24-7? Hanging out with my stash only helps so much. I tend to think of all the colorways I don’t have yet of a particular yarn. Fleece Artist is particularly bad about this. Not only do I need all my favorite colorways in the Merino Sock Yarn, but I have since discovered the wonderfulness of Fleece Artist Sea Wool, and now Hand Maiden Sea Silk calls to me. And this is just one maker of yarn. We won’t go into what Schaefer Anne, Lorna’s Laces, Trekking XXL, Great Adirondack and many others tell me.
So I sit in my bedroom with new AC unit that beloved sweet husband installed Tuesday and knit away on my Trekking XXL socks. It helps, it honestly does. But some days, it is not enough!
OTN Report: We are going to pretend the Grape Arbor Shawl does not exist for the moment.
Same for the Cotton Classic socks I can’t finish because I ran out of yarn.
However, I will cheerfully claim the Trekking XXL socks in color 71.
SOS:
1 pair done, 2 socks on the needles.
