Grand Plans Falling Flat
I know I haven't posted all week. I was going to do something about that. Wednesday & Thursday I was slightly bad and had a few free moments between dealing with radioactive waste and dumpster diving to write up two log entrys from the Big Sky Fiber Fair last weekend in Hamilton, MT. Guess what. The blog entries are still on my work computer. In the rush of work Thursday afternoon, I forgot to e-mail them to myself. These were great blog entries. Both of them a bit long-winded, but they would have made up for not posting all week in a one-two fell swoop.
So I humbly apologize if anyone actually dropped in, expecting to have something new to read. I'll have both of them up Monday night, I promise. I swear upon my entire sock yarn stash.
So in the mean time of not posting, I finally finished the black, boring, never-ending socks. Near the end, I was ready to bang my head against a brick wall to make myself feel better. This was my 16th pair of socks I have knitted. Sweet 16 these socks were not. I hope my mother realizes how much I really love her because that is the only reason why these socks got finished.
The agony was enough to make me finally make up my mind what socks to knit up next: Great Adirondack Merino Superwash in Deep Blue Sea. Beautiful handpainted yarn is just the cure for mass-produced monochromatic Lion yarn. All ready, I have to work very hard to remember those boring socks. By the time I post this, those socks will be a foggy nightmare.
As mentioned in previous post, I joined the Summer of Socks 2007. It starts Thursday. So while I could have my Merino Superwash socks done tonight, I'm trying to finish the Grape Harbor Shawl I have had on the needles for months. It and I keep having problems. I knit it in fits and starts and for the most part I've ignored for nearly a month. But if I don't get it done now, it will get completely ignored for the rest of the summer. And it is suppose to be Mom's Mother's Day present. What a great daughter am I.
So, right now I am racing to finish this shawl. The clock is ticking. And bygolly I am going to win this one.
