Neverwinter Knights - Return to The Great Race From the notebook of Elrylith Rebriviel: 5 - 11 Eleasis, 1376: The Team speds some time determining how they are going to transport the dragon turtle; Chand uses a wish to animate dead the corpse. The steamship tows it across the lake and down the river. Days later they are passed by the Waterdeep team riding their apparently charmed and possibly hasted dragon turtle. They reach Surthay and turn over the dragon turtle to the Eldath alchemists. They rest in the church of Eldath, where Smitty spends some time in thoughtful contemplation (the next day his speech impediment is gone and he seems more mindful of mercy). The next task is to find a queen larva of the swamp strider swarm. Harold uses a scry to find one, then they shadow walk to the Surmarsh, use a water breathing, fight an odd swamp (really, just duck into the water until they leave), and then Harold, Barnaby and Darvin teleport to the larva location. The muck is so thick they have to just grab what they can. They fly up past the millions of the swarm creatures and back to the team. Turning over the larva they then head to Rashemen and present the Patriach of Vrul a vial of the Lake of Tears. They are given a choice task, choosing to play Rashemen (live) Wizard's Chess against the Matriach of Vrul. Not familiar with the rules they lose, but impress the Matriarch, who holds a banquent in their honor. The Team is next off to Narthod for an individual task of a Firewine drinking contest. Smitty tries and loses. Regalla tries and loses. Barnaby tries and ties, which succeeds. The next task is to barter with a yeti. Harold scries one and they teleport to it with two roast pigs (which Illarion helps to hunt). Smitty eloquently barters (though the yeti wants Barnamby for some strange reason) for two pigs and three bottles of Firewine. They get the rune stone and head to Trailsend via shadow walk. They are attacked by greater shadows and the two lich wizards from they shadowplabe incursion in Thay. They defeat them and reach Trailsend and find the church of Ilmater, and the Keeper of the Martyrs. |
