Now it's time to write our own history, by our own

Mr. Denagama Siriwardena is a Sri Lankan author who has immensely contributed to the Sri Lankan youth literature.Mithuro,Gurupadhuru,Punchi Gopalla are among his very famous youth novels.

From his employement he was a teacher.He taught in almost 23 schools within 23 years of his life career as a school teacher. He was transferred here and there by politicians as a result of his brave attitude towards the journalism.

In 1976 Mr. Siriwardena first appeared in the Sri Lankan literature as a poet. His first poetry was "Ane Mage Nadu Asanu". After that he only wrote one poetry and it was "Dahity Dadhu"

Mr. Denagama Siriwardena also wrote novels for some newspapers. For "Divaina" weekend newspaper he wrote a novel called "Ekthara Police Niladariyekuga Kathvak".It was very famous those days among newspapaer readers and later it came out in the form of a printed book.Just after the last episode of that story published in the newspapaer it received a record number of feedbacks from the readers.Some of them were very interesting. Can you believe...!!! one of them was a flower bouquet.

"Ayoma" is also one of his very famous novels. It was first published in "Navaliya" ladies' newspapaer. Later it came out as a film. It was produced by Mr. Bandula Gunawardena and directed by Mr. Parakkrama Niriella. It was among the very few profitable sinhalese films in those days.
