Note: The second longest time in U.S. history, in which no one knew who was the clear winner of the election. Due to election disputes in Florida, including a recount due to the incredibly close election, the Supreme Court put a stop to the recount, throwing the election to George W. Bush. On December 13th 2000, Al Gore finally conceded the election.
Note: Although the percentage is tied, Al Gore recieved nearly 544,000 more votes than George W. Bush.
