| When Being an Individual Becomes a Trend, You're NOT an Individual Anymore | |||||
| This is my first article in awhile, and there are two reasons for this. 1.) I'm too lazy to write. 2.) Fuck you. Now, I was looking through MySpace, (because it gives me the jollies to look at losers on the internet) and I stumbled upon an "individual." Judging by her picture, the first thought that came to mind wasn't, "Man, what an individual." It was more like, "Man, what a trendy bitch." But, never the less, I continued to read this site, and I found out that she, "hates people that follow the crowd," and that "she doesn't follow the crowd." I became enraged. I called my grandma, invited her over, and punched her in the face, that's how enraged I was. After my brief anger relief attempt, (which, by the way, had to be repeated more than ten times) I went back to my computer, and stared at the screen. Every single one of her pictures included these two things: Big, thick-rimmed glasses Short, dyed, and styled hair So, after I'm done looking at these "pics", I check out the comments people left her. And, guess what! They all looked exactly like her! EVEN THE GUYS! Oh yeah, you're an individual. You don't "follow the crowd." It just so happens every single person that you hang out with looks EXACTLY like you. Ha, and these aren't the only things on her MySpace that made her seem more and more like a fucking, know-nothing bitch. She also said, "I hate people that classify emo as a type of person. It's a type of music. Get over yourself." Ok, so, upon review of her comments, I again found incriminating evidence against her statement. By clicking on links to her friend's sites, I found some people placed the label "EMO" upon themselves, thus proving that they WANT to be called EMO. And, what does she mean, "Get over yourself"? Fuck you. Maybe you should get over yourself and let people think what they want to think. Half the people that listen to that shitty music labels themselves. You wanna know why? 'Cause it's a trend. It has become a trend to look different. Which renders the attempt useless, having created a whole new trend in order to be different. Now you just look like everyone else. If you really want to be different, I've compiled a list of suggestions for you to look at: 1.) Wear no clothes. 2.) Shave all of your hair off (including your eyebrows). 3.) Paint your face the opposite color of your skin. 4.) Bark like a dog, chew on your fingers, and wear Spandex. (at all times) 5.) Smear shit all over your body. 6.) Fill a briefcase with shit and carry it with you (similar to #5 but less subtle). And the list goes on... You see? I guarantee you'll be the only one wherever you are that does any of the above things. I would've listed more, but I can only give away some of my great knowledge at a time, or you might get cancer. And that's not a lie either. It's been proven. Anyway, to summarize, you aren't a person that "doesn't follow the crowd" if you look like all the other people that "don't follow the crowd." You're just following another crowd in itself. They're all working towards the same goal, and that's individuality. Now, if you attempt to reach this goal with a group (hence, EMO), you're going to end up looking and acting like the people you're trying to achieve the goal with. Get it? That wasn't a serious question. I know you don't. I know five or ten minutes after reading this article, you're gonna go to your fridge, grab a nice Starbuck's drink, plop in your "As I Lay Dying" CD, put on your thick-rimmed glasses, and turn on MTV. I have to go. My grandma still has some life in her, and I still have some anger left. |
