| Kerry Camp Caught: Didn't Read Report A Demout Report, July 15, 2004 |

| John Kerry demanded to know if President Bush read a key Iraq intelligence assessment before ousting dictator Saddam Hussein. What they did not mention in their demands, however, is that John Kerry didn't read the document himself before voting to give the President authority to oust Saddam Hussein. "Along with other senators, he was briefed on the contents of the NIE (National Intelligence Estimate) by (then-CIA Director) George Tenet and other administration intelligence officials," said Kerry Spokesman Phil Singer. The Kerry camp went as far as to send out an e-mail this past Wednesday with the headline, "Did anyone in the White House read the full National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq?" In a liberal-biased conference organized by the Kerry camp, Senate Intelligence Committee Democrat Richard Durbin said Bush should have read the 90-page report issued October 2002. However, when asked if Kerry had read it, Durbin answered with a statement that we have heard many times from the left: "I don't know." Of course, Phil Singer tried to dodge this issue, saying that this wasn't about if Kerry read the intelligence assessment, but why the White House had refused to release the one-page presidential summary. Nice try. Some advice Singer: try to research John Kerry, before you decide to try and throw conspiracy theories at the President. Aides of John Kerry admitted that Kerry did not read the Iraq intelligence assessment, before voting to give the President authority to use force against Saddam Hussein. |
