| Tooting Kerry's Own Horn A Demout Report, 6/22/2004 |
|||||||||||
| "John Kerry rides in an American bus. I'll let the other facts speak for themselves." That is what Bill Burton, a spokesman for the John Kerry campaign, was reported saying in the 5/5/04 edition of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Abusively-liberal CNN's Lou Dobbs was also happy to note Kerry's American-made bus: "As reported earlier, the President is on a two-day bus tour in the Midwest tonight, focusing on jobs and the economy. The bus he is riding, however, is made by Prevost. It is a Canadian company. Senator Kerry, meanwhile, is using a bus on his tours that's made by an American competitor, Motor Coach Industries. It's made in the United States." (CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight, 5/04/04). "Seeing the President drive around in this Canadian-made luxury bus is just another reminder of George Bush's failed economic policies," said Kerry spokesman Phil Singer (The Washington Post, 5/5/2004). Seems like the Kerry campaign has some things confused. As discovered by The Associated Press and written about in an article on 5/5/2004, the two Kerry campaign buses, one being the 'Real Deal' express, were made by Prevost Car... in Canada. That's not all. Kerry's campaign became a little hush-hush when this was uncovered. "But while Kerry's campaign was all to [sic] happy to talk about the Bush bus, it became tightlipped on the subject of Kerry's bus rental. Telephone messages left by The Associated Press seeking comment were not immediately returned." (5/5/2004) That's alright though. I mean, Kerry is still American, right? Sure, Kerry buys cars only from America... right? In an NBC interview, Kerry states, "I own a Dodge 600 that I've had for about 20 years. I own a Chrysler 300M." The reporter then asked if Kerry bought mostly American, which Kerry had this to say: "Almost all American." Minutes later, Kerry adds, "The ones I've personally bought are American." Funny how Kerry mentions this Chrysler 300M as part of the 'American vehicles', because, Daimler Chrysler reports, "Chrysler 300M and 300M Special are manufactured at DaimlerChrysler's Brampton, Ontario, assembly plant". You can read all about that by visiting Chrysler's website, or by clicking here. Looks like Kerry bought the American car and bus, before Kerry bought the Canadian car and bus... right, Mr. Kerry?" "I voted for the $87 billion, before I voted against it." -John Kerry |
