Viacom published Richard Clarke's book 'Against all enemies', and is also the owner of CBS, which gave a very long and positive broadcast about Clarke, just before the release of his book.
"I think we were mugged by Viacom," Lehman told NRO in a phone interview Thursday. "Because they changed the release date of the book and geared up 60 minutes to launch his book to time them with his testimony and they edited his book to take out all of the criticisms of Clinton from from his [original private] testimony."
Clarke's performance poisoned the public hearings, and caused a partisan fight. Lehman says Republican commissioners felt they had to fight back. "What triggered it was Dick Clarke," says Lehman. "We couldn't sit back and let him get away with what he wanted to get away with." Lehman then adds, "We were hijacked by a combination of Viacom and the Kerry campaign in the handling of Clarke's testimony."
Clarke, it seems, was simply doing what he was told by the biog libs. Clarke changed his testimony between the private session and the public session of the hearings. At first, Clarke had an even criticism of both the Clinton and Bush Administrations. During the public hearings, he seems to say that Clinton was the most terror-prepared President ever, and Bush was short of preparing.
It is another example of how big libs will say anything, including lying to a commission which is in charge of preventing the next largest terrorist attack in our history. First Clarke lies to the commission in an effort to get more money from his books. Then Kerry Adviser Sandy Berger steals 90 pages of documents from the 9/11 commission by stuffing them in his socks and pants.
They have politicized September 11, 2001 in the worst way. They have gone beyond attacking American politics. They have used America to promote their own selfish agendas.
