Childhood I was born in Pucallpa city, region of Ucayali, in the east of Peru. My first 13 years of my life, I spent it in the Peruvian Amazon. My parents were new settlers in the city years ago. They immigrated from San Martin region (where I am now) in the sixties. Back then. The city was just a small town with no future. People were wrong. It changed for good! By
the Lord’s providence, I grew up in a Christian home. God first called my mom
out to respond the gospel. It was a very hard moment. I was sick of different
sicknesses. Luis Palau was holding an Evangelist Crusade on HCJB Radio Station.
My mom had to deal with them by herself. I do not think my childhood was
difficult. I was a product of my Dad’s lack of responsibility and God knows
better the reasons. My father abandoned us. But God rescued us. I have a sister
3 years older than me and a brother 8 younger years than me. My mom was who led
me to Christ as about a 7 years old boy. It
was good experience to have grown and lived in a such Christian environment. My
father suggested mom to register us to attend to a Christian School where my
sister and I learned about God’s love for us. I almost die drowned in Yarinacocha lake. By God’s grace, he allowed me to be rescued by a man who saw me trying to float. God provided His protection on time. That was His hand of providence and kept me to glorify His name. The Lord came into my life. |
