Hi everyone and welcome back. After a long period of not sewing anything, moving , Christmas and other things coming in the way, your wacky seamstress is now back. In full blast this time. Just realized the other day that it is only 3,5 months left to Bristol opens and I need to finish Brians and my nobles. Yeah right, like I ever will get all that done! But I'll try....
October 2002 Started Brians slops and mybodice, and the camera decided not to work. Great! Anyway....this is my half finished bodice. Finally got pictures of it, had to get a new camera. First I made a bodice out of two layers of canvas, left over from last years peasant.I'm not a small girl and need all the support I can get, even with a corset. Those DD's live a life of their own, and dont invite me to come along! The outer fabric of the bodice is black velvet (BIG ouch in my wallet), and its trimmed with dark red piping. The wings of the bodice are made the same way, two layers of denim, outer layer of velvet, but they have a layer of gold satin, to contrast and also to hide the denim. I also did some decorative beadwork on the wings. Brian's outfit will be in a diary of its own.
January 2003 Figured since I had satin fabric left over, I might as well use it for under sleeves. Added a decorative gold trim and put some pearls it. I realize it looks very much similar to the ones I made before, but the red color on those just wasn't right. Now if I had a nice embroidery machine, or the time and skill to embroider myself..... The second picture is just to show how the sleeves goes with the bodice. As you can see, the stomacher is missing on the bodice, it is not yet finished. I realize that I dont sew everything in the "right " order, but it works for me.

March 2003 The sewing machine doesn't work!! Ok, no reason for panic, Brian promised to take a look at it on his day off, and I guess I can survive until then. So, I figured I might as well do some hand stitching. I put some more pearls on the forpart and then I had this bright idea. Two years ago I bought a partlet.Yes, I know you sewing buffs out there are sighing now, but two years ago I couldn't sew a straight line :). Anyway, I wanted to spiff that partlet up a bit so I took some leftover "pearls-on-a-string" and did some decorative edging on the cuffs and collar. I used gold metal thread to stitch it on. I also re-did the little loops that closes the partlet by taking a gold/white string I had and braid it and sew it on.This is how it turned out. Onward to page 3
