Series One: Duelist Kingdom

When Yugi receives the package he is taken into a duel in the Shadow Realm. Pegasus explains where Duel Monsters originated and uses his Milliennium Eye to cheat and win the duel. When time is up he takes Grandpa's soul as
a prize. Yugi realises that he has to go to Duelist
Kingdom if he wants his Grandpa's soul back, and
so Tea, Tristan, and Joey go along with him.
While all this is happening, Joey receives a tape
from his sister Serenity. He knows that she has
bad eyes and will soon go blind. The operation to
fix them will cost $30000 and when Joey finds out
that the winner of the Dueling competition will win
a huge amount of money, he is determined to
enter.
Seto on the other hand, has dropped out of the competition, and has left to clear his head leaving his younger brother Mokuba with his company. However, the members of Kaiba Corp have other plans. They want to merge with Industrial Illusions, Pegasus' company, and for Pegasus to take over. They plan to kill Seto and kidnap Mokuba. but for this to happen, Pegasus must beat Yugi in a duel to restore Kaiba Corp with it's high title.
While waiting to board the boat to Duelist Kingdom, Joey is caught and Yugi gives him one of his star chips so he can enter the competition. Onboard, they meet Rex Raptor,and Weevil Underwood, the top duelists of the world, and Mai Valentine who they meet again later. While on the boat, Joey trades some cards and Yugi gives him the Time Wizard, which proves to be of great use to Joey. Weevil asks to see Yugi's Exodia cards and throws them overboard so that no-one can defeat him. Joey dives into the sea and nearly drowns but only manages to retrieve three. He explains to his friends why he has to win the competition.
When they arrive at Duelist Kingdom they duel many duelists who are
famous for their techniques. Being victorious in all his duels, they settle
after a while with Mai. A good night they are having when Ryou Bakura
turns up. Using his Millennium Ring he sends Yugi, Tea, Joey, and
Tristan's souls into Yugi's

deck as their favourite cards. When he makes a snatch for the Millennium Puzzle, Yami Yugi awakens and duel Yami Bakura. Using his knowledge and skill he manages to keep his friends on the field and puts Bakura's soul back where it belongs sending Yami Bakura to the Shadow Realm.
Eventually, Mai, Joey, Yugi, and Bandit Keith are the three finalists in the Castle. After watching a duel between Seto and Pegasus, Yugi promises

that he will save Seto, Mokuba, and his Grandpa's souls when he defeats Pegasus. First out of the finalists, he duels Mai, who surrenders. When Joey has to duel Bandit Keith, he can't find his card which he needs to win the prize money. Mai gives him her as Bandit Keith stole Joey's. When he wins the duel, Bandit Keith is revealed as the theif and Pegasus anounces that he was cheating. Joey and Yugi must duel before Pegasus becuase he will only duel one of them. I won't spoil the rest, watch it to find out what happens!

We begin at school, where Seto is not. Yugi is concerned and decides to go to Kaiba Corp and see if he's alright. When they arrive, Seto has upgraded his Dueling Discs and Yugi and Joey both receive one and an ID card. They begin to duel people to get their level up.
Serenity has had her operation but is still bandaged up and can't see. Joey decides to go and visit her in the hospital but Duke Devlin, the creator of Dungeon Dice Monsters

Series Two: Battle City

appears and won't let him past.He challenges Joey to his game but unfortunately Joey loses and is forced to dress up as a dog. Of course, Duke, who is really full of himself, announces Joey's punsihment to the public, and he challenges Yugi. He has already accused Yugi of cheating when he duelled him, believing that his Millennium Puzzle was how he

cheated, and he doesn't believe that Pegasus was the cheater.
Yugi picks up Dungeon Dice Monsters quickly and manages to win. Joey of course, is so excited he simply rips the dog outfit off. Duke gets all moody about his defeat until Yugi compliments him on his game. They become friends after that.
Eventually Joey gets to visit his sister in the hospital and helps her find the courage to remove her bandages and regain her strength.

Joey and Yugi continue duelling and eventually, they get into the finals along with Mai, Bakura, Ishizu, Marik, and Odion. At the time, they don't know that Marik is evil, as he changed his name and pretends to be their friend, while Odion, AKA "Marik" is their enemy. After Marik is revealed, the stories unravel and his sister Ishizu, explains their roots.
Unfortunately, the evil side of Marik gets out and hurts people. Mai loses her mind, Bakura is badly hurt, Odion is unconcious and then if that wasn't bad enough, they still have to reach the island for the finals. Now there is only

Yugi Mutou has taught his best friend Joey Wheeler about Duel Monsters, a game which is sweeping the nation. While helping Joey learn more about the game, classmate Seto Kaiba overhears Yugi mentioning a card that his Grandpa possesses. When Grandpa won't give Seto the card his kidnaps him and forces him to duel. Losing to Seto, he gives Yugi his deck to teach Seto about the "Heart of the Cards." Whilst dueling Seto, the Millennium Puzzle activates and releases the soul of an ancient Egyptian Pharoah called Yami Yugi. Unknown to Yugi, he continues to duel and beats Seto using Exodia; the Forbidden One. At the end of the duel, Yami sends the evil in Seto to the Shadow Realm.

Meanwhile, Maximillion Pegasus, the creator of Duel Monsters, is informed that Seto, former un-defeated world champion, has been beaten by an ametuer called Yugi. Pegasus decides to test his skill and gives him an invitation to Duelist Kingdom.

Marik, Joey, Yugi, and Seto left.

Series Three: Enter The Shadow Realm

The start of this series begins at the end of the second. The finalists are set for the last duels when Seto's blimp is taken over and piloted into an underwater liar where a strange kid is making the commands. He reveals that he is called Noa and he is going to take back what Seto stole.
Unknown to Yugi, Joey, Seto, etc. is that Noa is Kaiba's real son who had a run in with at truck when he was ten. His father put his soul
into a computer but he went a bit insane and
wanted to kill everyone so Kaiba locked him
away. However, The Big Five, Seto's
ex-henchmen, teamed up with Noa and set him
free. Now together, they are going to take over
Yugi and friends' bodies so that they can take
over Kaiba Corp.
