Here are just a few pictures of some of the 'special effects' makeup I've done.
The picture on your left is from a practice makeup run I did for a short film called "This Love".  The scene called for a murder victim that had had their throat slashed with a knife.  I molded a thin prosthetic piece with liquid flesh colored latex, thick artery fake blood and a blowdryer.  Then I applied the prosthetic across the neck with fresh liquid latex.  I cut a slit in it with scissors and applied more fake blood.  I ended up using two different kinds of blood to achieve the effect.  I also applied makeup over the piece to make it blend in with the real skin.  I think it came out rather well.  In the actual film the victim is laying in a pool of blood as well.
The picture on the right is myself and an assistant in the makeup process.  Note the weird thing behind me with the three strips of light.  I cannot for the life of me figure out what that is or where it came from.
The picture on your left is two people I made up for a film that was never finished.  They were supposed to be zombie-like homeless little girls.
The picture on your right is from the same movie.  This picture provides a full length view of the same zombie-like homeless girls.  I applied fake dirt makeup to their hands, clothes, and legs to achieve a more authentic homeless look.
I hope to have many more pictures from many more films I work on in the future.
