The friendly but eccentric Wizard
On your week journey or thereabouts to the Wizards keep, you had heard giantish roars of battle not far away. Bold as ever, you snuck around such loud noises, as it sounded the giants weren’t faring well. Later you saw a dragon flying higer over the Goldhoard mountains to your left. And yes, Yanni almost pooped 'em!
Getting to this castle, you discussed the plan. Having three sets of beads, it’s decided that Yanni, Valeska, and Tamil would go in with beads, while Callie would stay behind and guard Savuud’s finly honed headless body.
Crossing the bridge you have minor difficulty with some smaller gremlin creatures, but eventually knock at the door. A fine young man with a wolf head on his sword pommel, named Lucius, greeted you brought you up to a cluttered living room, and had you wait while he fetched his master. You met with the Wizard, discussed wants and needs, all while wearing your neat-o bead headbands. The eccentric, but friendly fellow told you he’d needs a day with Tamil's blade. He also thought he could find something nifty for the rest of you. He told you to amuse yourselves for a while, just don’t pester him in his laboratory.
Amuse yourselves? Damn! That’s right up your alley! Yanni found himself mesmerized looking at a painting until he got bizatch slapped by Valeska. Then you went exploring. Finding an odd wardrobe, Valeska stepped into it and disappeared! Yanni and Tamil continued exploring and found a secret stairwell. In it they were attacked by a big group of shadows. Tamil, severely weakened and shocked by his crystal of blasting not affecting the shadows, Yanni manages to save the day.
Meanwhile, Valeska found herself teleported to a tree a half mile from the keep alongside the river. She promptly began running back to the keep and eventually rejoined the weakened Tamil and Yanni. Reunited, you explored some more. Choosing a tower, you ran across a wight which demoralized Valeska appropriately, and oddly enough, you found Savuud’s body in a cell. Hmm interesting. Having enough of this weird business, you chose to camp for the night outside the keep. You went back to where you left Callie and Savuud. Callie said that she was dodging monsters and then something grabbed the body. Fortunately, you found it.
The next morning you guys get up and after a few hours the friendly mage gives Tamil his dagger back with a cool trinket hanging off of it’s pommel. He told him, "the curse is now rendered ineffective." The Wizard then began rummaging in his robes and mumbling and pulled out a book and a flute and handed them to Yanni and Valeska, and smilingly said, "These should aid you in your adventures! I am sorry there is nothing I can do for your removable headed friend though…"
You then all suddenly heard Judas’ grave voice quietly in your heads, "Now would be the time to leave…" Hearing that and feeling these beady headbands sort of melting like rock salt candy, you got bad ju-ju feelings, again gave your thanks, and hustled yer rumps outta there. Yanni, fresh from learning teleport from this guy, blipped you all back to Strea-Tarl.
