Fork in the Road

At this point, the group decided to split up for a couple of reasons. The last thing the group new was that Callie was being held prisoner by the lich, and they were to try and rescue her now, and of course maybe some booty was to be found. The other group would continue to Zhind, to try to rescue Tamil, and find this Summoner that Yanni mentioned. Yanni had sudden insight from the deck that the solution to getting Savuud from wherever was sent, was in finding this Summoner and asking him what the scoop was.

So Yanni, Valeska, Fatoxjxh, and Rudy turned south and headed a few days back to this lich’s castle in hopes of finding Callie alive and well. Leena, Findel(la), Mahntar, Belsham, Dirk, and the newly acquired Delayna and Judas carried on northward to Zhind to hopefully find some clues about Tamil’s and Savuud’s locations.

A relatively uneventful journey leads the group to Zhind. Belsham was able to occasionally find traces of Skull-man and the Wemic, which lead you to believe that Tamil, if alive, could be found somewhere near Zhind. You intersected with another southbound caravan, about 1500 people laden with wagons, supplies, horses and other animals, as they made their stake and try to assemble a keep for their ruler in some land to the southeast. All in all, Zhind was still Zhind. Humanoid races run about like oversized vermin, and often it’s the half elves that get the minority sneers and comments fired their way. Leena and her crew headed to her Temple of Belenus to rest, reflect, and research information on this fabled Summoner. Judas and Mahntar parted ways with Findel(la), who headed to his shop and over a few days got caught up on business, relations, taxes, paperwork, and the latest hermaphrodite styles in East Zhind. Then he, no wait … SHE began looking the streets for old contacts whom may have had info on Tamil’s kidnappers.

Yanni, Valeska, Fatoxjxh, and Rudy, with their combined nuts and cajones, quickly closed distance on the Lich’s Keep. Within a mile or two of the keep, they were hailed by a mighty cavalier. Introducing himself as Sir Jorolil of House Rotanthu, he quickly urged Fatoxjxh to be his House’s banner man, and pleasedly asked his new scribe, Yanni, to begin scribing his dictations for a letter back home. Finally, SIR Jorolil was unable to accept Rudy’s interruptions any longer and berated him loudly. Everybody else decided that this Sir Jorolil wasn’t so bad after all! From then on they advanced to the keep, cautious, yet eager, thar’s treasure in that there keep! (and maybe Callie too!)

The group was assaulted when trying to cross the bridge and even within the keep constantly by little gremlin dudes. Eventually they entered the keep and searched it in methodical fashion. The storage room off the kitchen held some exciting giant spiders that they quickly dispatched, and found a trap door they could not open. Unamused, yet unthwarted, they continued on into other rooms and eventually into the Chapel tower. And I must say, it was a good day! As they climbed the stairs inside the chapel they were attacked by a glass golem that gave them ample love with a prismatic spray. Suffice it to say that ass was whooped, and numbers taken. Sir Jorolil was driven insane and was a babbling idiot for some time to come. Rudy, got blasted, turned into much, and then blipped to another plane of existence. Valeska, well, I believe it was a lightning bolt after some melee wounds that put her into a legitimate dead status. Yanni fell unconscious after trading critical blows with the falling golem, while throughout the whole battle, Fatoxjxh was thwacking and poking like a happy horny rabbit. All of you fell to your deserved doom, and Fatoxjxh kept the regenerating glass golem dead for good.

Get braced for more exciting chapters in the lives (and deaths) of these young (and foolish) adventurers!
