Broken Wolf Heart
I sat alone on a cold rock near a lake
A cold breeze rushed over my body
I shivered gently
I watched several herds come to the lake
To take a drink of the crystal clear water
Beyond the lake, a cave
That I had entered many times before,
But now I had no real reason to enter it
The dragon I loved so much
Had left, for a new cave
And left me alone in this dream world
Before he had kept me safe and warm
When it was cold like this
He would rap his red wing over me
And snuggle me close to his firey stomach
There I would lay
Peaceful and calm
A single tear ran down my face
It was closely followed by thousands me
I wished he were here, right now
To comfort my cold, teary body
But I knew he had already moved on with his life
A lone wolf came towards the lake
He fell lifeless, next to the water
I pushed myself of my rock
And wondered over to him
You could tell that his heart had been broken
By the look in his eyes
I sat down beside him
I gently stroked his head and spoke to him softly
I knew how he felt
And we needed each other
Till our hearts were healed |
