Act One: Learning the Hard Way
Tom Hayes is a man who should be dead by now. When Orpheus group approached him concerning a supposed Spectre that was infesting his household, leading to his brain tumor and the subsequent suicide of his wife, Jasmine, Tom felt that someone finally understood the troubles he faced. With two of his three kids currently with other guardians, Tom obssessively protects his daughter and tends to be very direct.

Having faced both Spectres and the urban legend Bishop, Tom believes that the Board may be hiding important information that may save the lives of Agents.

Act Two: We are not Alone
Tom loses his body in the assault.
And some would say Tom also lost part of who he was in there. Wandering around like a fanatic crusader hunting down Spectres, Tom destroys any Spectre he comes across while he searches for Jasmine, his late wife's ghost. Having not learned yet the uncovered painful truth as to why there are no ghosts beyond three years of age, Tom mistakenly believes he has this last few remaining months left before his wife dissipates forever. But others have noticed his more willing embrace towards using his Stains. And in some occasions impossibly even tapped into his Stains and manifested to affect the living. Something is happening to Tom, but no one knows how to get him to realise that.

Act Three: Ne Me Mori Facias
The signs were there. But only Kate seemed to have foreseen things as clearly. Tom Hayes, during the poisoned pigment raves, is lost to the Spectres, choosing to embrace Spite in hopes that by being one of them he could find his lost daughter. But has Tom simply condemned himself to becoming another one of the things the Crucible will one day have to fight against?

Act Four: And the Holy Spirit
Like a miracle sent down from on-high, Tom Hayes is redeemed from his Spectrehood. But with his recovery and Humanity brought back came the loss of his Crucible's innate connections to him. So too came the loss of his ability to touch on Benefits as well as the capacity to share Vitality. What cost did the act of redeeming himself from Spectrehood have? And why does his darker double seemingly glow with the power of Vitality as well? Is he truly the human-side of Tom? Or is he something else?

Act Five: Alliances
Barely trusted, Tom struggles to assist the Crucible in the war while remaining at the other side of the Storm Wall. He learns of the multi-faceted sides of the Malfeans and hopes to use this against them to help the crucible win in the end.
