| What is Padella? |
| Padella started out (and is still starting out) as an ambitious exercise in micronationalism. It was founded by Mark Buhr on December 10, 2001. This is Padella's equivalent to the American Independence Day. We call December 10 Constitution Day. So where were we? Ah yes, how Padella was founded. Mr. Buhr was the former President of the Lyrican Republic, a fiercly political and partisan nation, and the current Speaker of Parliament when he founded Padella. His interest in Lyrica had been waning as of late, so he decided to create something unique. Something he could call his own. Something secluded from political battles. This something became Padella. Mr. Buhr thought that the best way to decrease the politics in government is to make a strong executive. He did this. But he also wanted it to be democratic. Voila! He also wanted the executive to be checked. Thus, the House of Citizens which exists to...yes, check the executive. Mr. Buhr believed that most micronationalists were tired of the same old rip offs of the American and British government systems. He created something completely different. It's not a republic, it's not a democracy, it's not a dictatorship. It's Padella! So why then is Padella called the Democracy of Padella? Basicly, for the lack of a better word. |
| What's in the Future for Padella? |
| That's a good question. The answer will be interesting. We are still a new nation, and are a bit disoriented. We're not sure where we're going, but we're going to get there! Padella already has firm foreign relations. We are a member in the League of Micronations. We have mutual recognition with several nations including the Holy Empire of Reunion and Tymaria. Hopefully, we will become a robust nation in all facets of the nation. An economy might be in store, for instance. The next few months will be very exciting in Padella. So what's in the future? It depends on just about everything! |
| What About Padella's Culture? |
| Like any self-respecting micronation we will manufacture our own culture even if it will be completely fake. There's no way to make a culture, in real life tems, out of a internet nation. So here it goes... Favorite sport: Rugby Nat'l Language: English with small pockets of German Nat'l Bird: Padellan Hawk Capitol: Pradheim, Padella Monetary Unit: Krans Nat'l Religion: Unofficial Major Industries: Lumber, natural gas, automobiles, electronics I'll probably add more as I think of them. |
