Candace

So why did I put my single most boring character into my comic strip?

Oh STOP it!  Stop calling her boring!  I LIKE Candace!
Maybe you like boring people ^_~ .  Anyway, the thing is, I had decided I was going to make the comic about Demmy.  I briefly considered starring Connie, or Illy, or Nebula, or even doing something fresh and new and only using my characters as a bare bones for ideas, but in the end I chose (as I knew I would) to focus on Demmy. . . and Candace was already Demmys best friend.
I could have used one of her other friends to play second fiddle, such as Collie or Janette, or even Toby, I could even have made someone up, but there was a reason I chose Candace, and at least for this I chose her for who she was.  Candace is like no one else in the comic.  (Cuz shes more boring, hee hee, just kidding) When I put together my characters I had gathered Demmy, with her run away imagination and all her weirdness, Toby, who if anything makes Demmy look like a calm, normal child, Connie, the bully, and Illy the mom and rainbow haired mutant cat girl!  Honestly theres no one normal in the lot of them!  Except for Candace.  Shes an average, everyday, normal run-of-the-mill second grader.  Shes a little shy, a little timid, but mostly shes just your average girl-next-door.  And I think that is really what the comic needed, a normal girl in the mist of all this bizarre chaos.  And Also, Candace is so fundamentally different from Demmy I thought they would bounce ideas and personality off one another funnily (which, according to my spell check is a real word ^_~).  So I guess for all of my complaining about her and calling her boring she does have a very important role in the comic, and in my own way I think I love her just as much as I do all the others.
