Any type of black dancing shoe will work for your costume (unless it's like, white for Victoria or something). You can use lace up or slip on, it doesn't really matter. You can get fabrick paint and paint them funky if you want, but I didn't want to ruin mine. If you really want to paint them I suggest buying some second hand from a thrift store or such.
