Ahhh, Demeter. My favorite queen of all the Jellicles. Demeter is definately one of the spotlight queens. Although Bombalurina, outshadows her sometimes. Bomba is thought to be her sister or, just a friend, but Bomba is very protective of Demeter. Demeter has Gold and Black fur, and in the movie she has very green eyes. Many people believe her to be Munkustrap's mate, but I can never believe this. I think she is mates with Mungojerrie. I have only seen this theory once in my travelings of the web. Demeter is ofen thought to have some kind of relationship with Macavity, weather she was raped by him, they were lovers, or even as siblings, or Father - daughter relationship. Demeter has a beautiful singing voice, and can be heard in Grizabella: the Glamour cat, The Old Gumbie cat, Macavity, and her solo line in Jellicle Songs for Jellicle cats, "Can you see in the Dark?". She seems to be the only young female who is not interested in The Rum Tum Tugger, and even hisses at him when he gets close to her. As for her relations to Grizabella, I think she may be her mother, as Demeter seems to be the only adult willing to give her a chance. |
