below is a collection of designs, again produced usin computer graphics packages, inspired by Jesus & Mary Chain song titles and lyrics.
9000,000
'9000,000' is based on the lyric "nine million rainy days have swept across my eyes thinkin of you" from the JAMC song 'Nine Million Rainy Days'.
eyeshine
'eyeshine' is inspired by a line from a JAMC song called 'Cut Dead', which goes "do i still shine, after such a lonely time" - the picture was made before i realised what Jim Reid was actually singin, but like i said, personal interpretation is everythin.
mary chain blue lines
'mary chain blue lines' isn't based on any song, it's simply an attempt to mimick the band's artwork. the font fer the bandname is as close as i could get to the font on the artwork fer 'Munki'-era releases ('Munki' bein the band's last album, released early 1998) and the colours and shapes were chosen to fit the mood of their music at that time. 'william reid is a haystack' is a paraphrase of summat some music journo said in a review of the band - a reference to Will's hair.
REDemption
'REDemtion' is based on the lyric "here comes my redemption now" from the JAMC song 'Rider'. i created the effect of the words gettin rapidly closer to the viewer, just as the tree quickly approaches the speedin biker in the song, by layin them down first at the top of the picture very small, then over the top of them goin down the page, becomin larger and larger until they are finally readable. the gaudy red represents the 'red' in 'redemption', and also the blood of the dead rider in the song.
