1. Get your doll and color palette ready. I find it works best for me to finish the doll except for the fishnets before I begin, but that's just personal preference. If you're using a palette close to skintone (I'm not), be sure that none of the colors are the same as the shading on the base. |

2. Using the darkest palette color, draw the outline of the bands on your stockings. Depending on the style of stockings you're pixelling, this could be placed almost anywhere on the leg. |

3. Shade the bands using whatever style is most comfortable to you. |

4. Pick a random color that is far from any color in your base, palette, or doll so far. I typically use lime green. Use this color to draw in the body of fishnet. Depending on the size of the base or the style you're going for this could be done many different ways. Remember: this part takes patience. The bright color is used so you will be able to tell where you have and have not shaded. Trust me, going without it is much more frustrating. |

5. Begin shading one color at a time, leaving your outline for the very last. |

6. Finally, finish by filling in the outline. |

You have now pixelled fishnet stockings! Try playing around with this technique for shirts, armwarmers, etc. as well. You'd be surprised at the results. Base by Dolleria. |
