Mei is an average eighteen-year-old living in Kentucky, U.S.A. She will start school at ITT Technical Institute in the fall of 2006, studying to acheive an Associate's Degree in Multimedia and a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Entertainment and Game Design. Mei classifies herself as a Geek of All Trades: anime, table-top role play (mostly Vampire: The Masquerade), collectable card games (namely Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon), sci-fi, fantasy, and much, much more
Mei began dolling in 2002 and hopes to continue well into the Apocalypse in 2012.

Both of Mei's muses have names straight out of Shakespeare. Common consensus is that Mei harbors some sort of secret (or not so secret) love of the English poet and playwright's works which is reflected in the two psychos that pop up in her brain to give her ideas. Unfortunately, the two muses share a room up there in Mei's head, so you can only imagine the crazy fights they get into.
Laertes
Age: looks 20, but no one's exactly sure how old he is.
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Likes: Zombies, science, giving Mei doll ideas when there's
no computer for miles, blatantly tormenting Mei, making funny noises, being
obnoxious, tormenting anyone and everyone, his penguin hat
Dislikes: Christina Aguilera, being dolled in psychotic situations,
Vans shoes, ball point pens, fleas, ironed sheets
Secret Obsessions: Britney Spears and Mei's character Hisano
Collects: Dust Bunnies, half full pop cans (they can't be half
empty), Pokemon figurines, locks of eye-covering hair chopped from the heads
of unsuspecting Emo kids, porcelain tea sets
His Half of the Room: Very messy. The walls are covered in
a slapdash collection of posters ranging from movies like House of 1000 Corpses
to a huge wall scroll of Pikachu. One square of wall (about 3x3 feet) is blank
but for his collection of Emo hair, which is taped up in locks. He has a mattress
on the floor (wrinkled orange sheets and an army green comforter) and a huge
collection of dust bunnies in a corner. Pokemon figurines are taped upside down
on the blades of the ceiling fan and a row of half full pop cans rests on the
windowsill. A Jolly Roger flag is stapled to the window frame in place of a
curtain. The only clean thing in his half of the room is an immaculate curio
cabinet filled with porcelain tea sets.
Laertes is Mei's main muse, a fact that is reflected in her sarcasm and the many, many dolls she produces of Hisano. He's crazy and despises anything overly romantic. However, he does love to pop blood and gore dolls into Mei's mind every once in a while. It's a "love the zombies" thing.
Miranda
Age: about 17

Likes: Seargent Frog, green tea Pocky, chick flicks, inspiring Mei to doll Laertes in psychotic situations
Dislikes: rap and country music, Laertes' dust bunny collection, Laertes being mean
Secret Obsessions: Theme Hospital, Gackt, and monkies
Collects: monkey stuffed animals, Gackt posters, Sgt. Frog paraphenalia, empty Pocky boxes (must be in good condition), and cracked coffee mugs that can no longer hold liquid.
Her Half of the Room: Only slightly messy. She has a few dirty clothes scattered on the floor, but she makes her Sgt. Frog patterned bed every morning. The bed also sits on the floor, but Miranda build a custom "headboard" for it that serves as two shelves: one for her cracked coffee mugs and one for her various Sgt. Frog paraphenalia. She made her own comforter by quilting together fabric into the image of Keroro, Sgt. Frog's main character, and then quilted a hot pink background around him. Her sheets are a green that matches Keroro with hot pink and dusky blue ribbons trimmed onto them. The whole bed has stuffed monkeys scattered all across it, two large ones serving as pillows. The larger wall in her half of the room is covered with Gackt posters while her half of the wall she shares with Laertes is covered by a mural of the characters from Sgt. Frog...all of them eating Pocky. The only other piece of furniture in her half is a small nightstand that has been spongepainted green with the drawers taken out. On top of the nightstand sits Miranda's laptop, always on, and always at the menu screen of Theme Hospital when she isn't on it and playing said awesome game. In the hollows where the drawers used to rest are the many empty Pocky boses, stacked neatly.
Demented Penguin began as the (fifth) name for Mei's pixel site. Soon it will encompass not only pixels, but the full range of Mei's works: writing, comic strips, flash cartoons, hand-drawn art, web page design, and much more. Mei hopes to one day run a combination production company/bar under the same name, of course continuing website upkeep.
