| The 2001 Elseworlds one-shot Green Lantern: 1001 Emerald Nights (written by Terry LaBan, art by Rebecca Guay) re-imagines the Green Lantern characters by combining their concepts with the Arabian Nights legends. In this version, Green Lantern Hal Jordan becomes Al Jhor Dan, a humble fisherman who discovers an enchanted lamp which grants him the power of an emerald genie. In the course of his adventures, Al Jhor Dan becomes sultan and marries the beautiful Princess Katma. But their happiness is ended when Katma is bitten by a poisonous serpent. |
