The Beginning
Her life started in the cool darkness of a spring time lunar eclipse. She had been placed within Bwlch y Ddeufaen, a circle of standing stones in Northern Wales. Delwyn was only an infant wrapped loosely in her swaddling clothes, freezing in the chilled evening air. A priestess of no more then 20 years of age found her within the stones after a lunar rite was performed. The priestess swiftly clutched the child to her breast and ran as fast as her legs could carry her to the home of the Arch Druid. The strong, rigid Arch Druid took hold of the child, quickly assessing any injuries the child may have. It was then that the strange marks upon Delwyns forearms caught the eye of the Arch Druid. The pale, delicate skin of the infants wrists were tattooed with writhing snakes in a light hue of green. The Druid thought the tattoos odd on a child so young. Perhaps the Godse had their hand upon this small infant girl? Only time would tell. The babe was given to the priestess to bring up in the ways of the Old Ones. The small infant began to grow, showing signs that truly the Gods were smiling upon her. As Delwyn grew, so did her thirst for knowledge. She studied diligently with her teachers, finding her talent in herbs and the path of the stars and moon. At the age of thirteen, the gift of Sight was showing itself. The High Priestess drew Delwyn to her so she could learn about this gift. It took years, but she mastered these gifts. The Arch Druid, now aging rapidly, wanted a new healer. Draco, his personal healer, could not quiet his aches and pains the way Delwyn could. She could work wonderful magic with her potions for stiffness and aching of the bones. Delwyn replaced Draco, a Druid of the Council, and she became the one many sought out for their maladies.
This did not sit well with Draco. He was a Druid of the Council and he had been replaced by a child. His anger smoldered and grew. He would have his revenge one day. He would not be replaced. Draco turned to the shadows that lingered within the forest. No one knew he was conjuring dark spells to befall Delwyn. He had made a pact with the Dark one, Penn Annwyn.
Life for Delwyn was full of great possibilities. She was the next in line to be High Priestess. She was always being groomed for the position by the current Priestess, but life quickly changed. A sickness had taken hold of the village and Delwyn was the first to help those who needed her skills. She worked day and night trying to save as many people as she could. She grew more weary and weak with each passing day. She still continued her work, losing more people then she could have predicted. The weeks passed and still those she had thought she had brought to health quickly fell ill and died. She nursed all those who came to her while others demanded her to rest, she would not find it till this was over. Delwyn had been tending to a young girl when she collapsed. The fever had consumed her body for days. She would wake briefly to the soft sounds of Draco giving her herbs and teas to help ward off the fever. But even in an umconscious state she felt something was wrong. Her Sight came and went during this time and she saw Draco mixing poison into her teas. Delwyn could do nothing. Soon it would be over and she would be in the world between the worlds, the astral plain. The day came when she breathed her last and was no more.
With white- hot, searing pain did her body shutter back to life. Delwyn could feel the cold stone under her back as she gulped in air. She opened her eyes to the heavens bright with stars. The night was warm and buzzing with life. Slowly she sat up, her hands touching the death shroud she had been wrapped in. Slowly she pulled the veil from her face. This cannot be. I am dead! she spoke to herself as she stood on the firm ground. She turned to see all that was familiar, huts glowing with warm fires, music drifted through the night air, as did the sounds of the night.

Delwyn knew she could not linger here. Urgently she ran into the forest, hoping to find help somewhere, anywhere. She ran farther then she knew before collapsing against a tree with exhaustion. Something was terribly wrong...
