I wrote this poem five years before my mother's passing, yet I find it very relevant...

Momma #2

I used to come and talk to you, whenever there was wrong,
You patiently lent me an ear, listened as I went on.
You made me laugh, you made me cry, you made me angry, too.
Despite all the things said and done, your love for me stayed true.
And now, you’ve left and went away, I don’t know what to do;
There’s only one thing on my mind – how much I’m missing you.
