Malaysia
We were only in Malacca for a day prior to heading up to Thailand. This is Christ Church, built by the Dutch in the early 1700s. What they were doing there, I'll never under- stand. The weather is nasty, hot and humid all year. How could the Dutch and British survive without A/C?? Home was 3 months away by ship, and many men and their famlies died and were buried in this far-off land. This was the meeting place of East and West during that time, and the fortunes made in trading silk, spices, tea, and opium were massive.
One of Kuala Lumpur's main bus stations. A view down one af about 4 different rows of booths selling bus tickets to destinations all over Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.  With 40 different voices calling out destinations that you think you recognize, it is a wonder that we managed to get the right ticket.
Cameron Highlands
Me amongst the tea on a 4000+ acre plantation.
Us with our tour guide for the day. He knew most everyone we saw on the roads (he used to be a cop), and is now a part- time taxi driver.  He fought the commies during the state "emergency" from 1945 - 1960, and later rousted the locals in KL for many years. He and his wife moved up to the highlands to enjoy the beautiful weather. I bet we enjoyed it more than he does!
There are also many fresh flower farms in the area.  Stunning!
Ipoh
Detail from the ceiling of a Chinese temple we visited while waiting for the train in Ipoh.
Uh....  not sure what this is.
