When we used to stay out late
Thinking we were grown
Stealing from the neighborhood store
And running all the way home
Then we tried to play it off
When we walked into the door
But somehow grandma always knew
And whipped the girls and boys
We cried and lied
Never to do it again
But as soon as grandma turned her back
We would smile that sneaky grin
Paducah was our favorite street
Were we shared so many memories
Laughing and playing all night long
Those were the days that are now gone
