CHAPTER EIGHT
So this is Goodbye...
Several days later Rahlynn finds himself walking into the Cathedral as he has done many times in the past. Looking around to all the members of the Conclave he slowly walks up to the Archbishop. Slowly the members of the conclave file in behind him watching his every move. With his minds eye Rahlynn looks over his friends knowing that word had reached at least half of them of his Shadow Council and their treachery towards the conclave. Turning to face his stalkers he speaks out, Will you allow me words? mumbling among themselves the highest ranking of them all steps forwards, In Faeroths absence I will speak on behalf of the conclave, and we shall hear you words of deceit but we shall not judge you for that not our job. Nodding towards Firaawyn, Rahlynn positions himself so that all may see him.
Members of the conclave he looks around with his orb taking in their mystical shapes, A those of the Knights who are present. I must confess to those who do not know already that the other day a battle took place. Its purpose is private and such information is the knowledge of the Shadow Council and myself. Faeroth has no doubly caught word of the attack as I am sure you know. He says looking towards Firaawyn who turns her head in disgust, And I am already aware of what punishment would befall me if I am to wait around for Faeroth to give judgment. That is why here now and today you will all bare witness to me stepping down from my rank has second in command of the Knights. Removing his tabard slowly with a sad face about him, he folds it nicely and hands it to Arthanor; See that Faeroth receives this, with my best wishes. As he beings to leave Tebrimir steps forward still injured from the attack he speaks out, This battle was one that I took part in, I pledged my blood to see that it would succeed and I failed. But I shall not fail the Alliance again. He says as he steps towards Arthanor, and pulls his tabard off with his uninjured arm, I took partook of this battle and in doing so fully understand of what judgment will be laid upon me. I do not feel regret for I followed what I believed to be true. And with a bad attempted at folding the tabard he hands it to Arthanor repeating Rahlynns words, See that Faeroth receives this, with my best wishes. And he meets up with Rahlynn a few steps away. Walking towards the Cathedral doors Rahlynn stops for a moment as memories pass through his mind. Firaawyn over taken by emotions looks towards the two of them and then storms angrily into a side room. Stepping through the entrance of the Cathedral Boomus, Ellebris, and Forzalupo meet up with Rahlynn and Tebrimir. Boomus swinging his gun lightly over his shoulder speaks out the Divine Order, And tell em Ol Boomus wishes him luck. He says with a sarcastic voice. They then leave the Cathedral and make their way out of Stormwind.
The next day the five of them sit in a pub in Gold shire sipping on mead and laughing. The necklace around Rahlynns neck beings to heat up and he quickly excuses himself and makes for a place of solitude. Grasping the necklace in his head he speaks out, Yes go ahead, it is clear. And the voice chimes in:
Rahlynn, I fear that things have taken a turn for the worse. It is time that we spread out our resources a bit to cover more ground. I will need Ellebris to travel to his homeland where he will meet with a teacher. There is much he must learn if he is going to become an asset to Shadow Council. As for Forzalupo I sense that his path may pull him away from us for a short time, so do not be surprised when this happens. Tebrimir and Boomus must stay with you; the three of you must keep each other safe while this time passes. As for Draknas I have learned that he may not be leaving the Conclave, so I do not know that he is going to be an asset to us any longer. I must sadly inform you that I too must make a journey one in which I cannot risk contacting you during. Fear not for I should be gone long. In the mean time I need you to get established, there are several organizations among the Alliances whos goals are not that far from our own. You must find these organizations and you must ally yourself with them, but remember do not speak of me to anyone, and under no circumstances do you reveal the nature of the Shadow Council. All will be as it should be in due time before the time being secrecy is our greatest ally. Nodding to himself Rahlynn responds, I understand, I will what is needed to the others. But am I to understand that this will be the last time we speak until you return? Echoing back the voice responds, Yes that is correct, but you will be fine Rahlynn and do not worry about this old fool, I have faired well enough so far. Rahlynn laughs for a moment and then responds, Actually I wanted to ask, if I may this time, the nature of what you are. You are much to powerful to be. Interrupting him the voice responds, Knowing who I am Rahlynn could be a dangerous thing.. He pauses for a moment, But I guess you have proven your loyalty, but know that no other can know me, the risk is too great. The voice pauses for a moment, I am known by many names Rahlynn, but to you and your race I am known as Krasus. And the voice fades away.
Rejoining with the other members Rahlynn conveys the message from Krasus to them all, of course omitting the conversation about the mysterious voices name. The five of them set out a course of action and before the night ends Forzalupo made his departure to venture alone for a while. Ellebris agreed to meet with his people and promptly left to do so the following morning. As for Tebrimir, Boomus, and Rahlynn, well their coming adventure is another story to tell.
