Ok, so this isn't really the official symbol of Poland, but in and around Krakow it's a very popular beer, often the only one served in bars. Zywiec (pronounce 'Jiwiets' is also the name of a small village at the foot of the Tatra moutains and the couple in this picture are wearing the traditional mountain (or 'Goralski') costume and are at the heart of the 'MalePolska' (pronounce 'mawepolska'), or Little Poland, tradition, Malepolska itself the heartland of Poland. |
