SURNAME: List one of the surnames (last names) you are researching. Limit the variant spellings.

LOCATION: Within the space of the form box, list the abbreviation for the earliest known location for this surname. If you wish to note the migration of this surname from place to place, you may show this by separating the locations with the ">" symbol. For example, if the Doe family moved from Maine to Mississippi to California, you would show this by stating: ME>MS>CA. Please note: we are using Postal Codes for state abbreviations, and a 3-letter code for other countries. Tables that list state, province, and country codes are available for your perusal by linking to the Roots Forum State, Province & Country Abbreviation List. These codes MUST be used, or your form will be rejected - sorry!
